Modern technologies appearing on the optical instrument market open up new possibilities. With the Levenhuk Rainbow D50L PLUS 2M Digital Microscope, Moonstone, you can not only observe plant and animal cells or microorganisms – you can also document your findings with photos and videos of the samples under examination. The scope of delivery includes everything you need for interesting experiments with the microscope. And if you want to share your discoveries with others, you can easily post the images or videos from the digital camera on Facebook, Instagram or another social media platform.
High-quality optics
The microscope comes with three objective lenses: 4x, 10x and 40xs. The most powerful objective lens has a special spring mechanism that protects the optics from mechanical damage. Even if the lens is accidentally lowered too far when focusing, the spring-loaded lens retracts slightly, preventing damage to the optics and sample. The 2x Barlow lens doubles the magnification of each lens used. This gives the microscope a magnification of up to 1280x.
The optics are made of high-quality optical glass, which is coated with a special anti-reflective coating for better light transmission. The images delivered are always high-contrast and very detailed.
Digital camera
The microscope comes with a modern 2-megapixel digital camera. The camera is installed in place of an eyepiece and then connected to the computer. The magnified images appear on the computer monitor. Students can show particularly interesting samples to their parents and friends. Teachers can show their students all the steps of an experiment. And of course, anyone can use the camera to take beautiful pictures and videos of the objects being observed.
Combined lighting
The microscope is equipped with two LED light sources. The lower light source is used to observe transparent objects, such as thin sections of animal and plant tissue or microorganisms in a drop of aquarium water. Opaque objects, such as fabric or paper, should be observed with the upper light source. If semi-transparent objects are to be viewed, both light sources are required. The brightness can also be adjusted for the best possible view of each individual sample.
Robust and practical housing
The microscope housing is made of metal. This makes the microscope highly reliable and suitable for regular intensive use. For added convenience, the microscope head is tilted at 45° and can be rotated 360° around its own axis. This is very practical for group work – only the head is rotated; the instrument remains stationary.
The microscope can be powered by mains electricity or the standard batteries supplied. The camera is powered via the USB cable.
CAUTION: In most European countries, the mains voltage is 220–240 V. If the instrument is to be used in a country with a different mains voltage, a voltage converter must be used.
Experiment kit
The Levenhuk K50 Experiment Kit is especially useful for users who are taking their first steps into the wonderful world of the microcosm. The kit includes ready-made slides, special instruments for preparing your own samples and a very helpful booklet with recommendations, tips and experiment descriptions.
Transport and storage case
The microscope and all accessories can be safely stored in the plastic case provided, ensuring that nothing gets lost. It also protects the instrument during transport.
