Parasitology – Course series
Native and tropical parasites of humans and domestic animals
This course series comprises 25 carefully selected microscope slides from the field of medical and veterinary parasitology. It provides a systematic overview of protozoa, helminths and arthropods of diagnostic, biological and epidemiological significance.
The slides are suitable for teaching, training and study (school, university, laboratory and MT training) as well as for deepening parasitological knowledge.
Contents of the course series
The series includes preparations on the following topics, among others:
- Blood and tissue parasites (e.g. Trypanosoma, Plasmodium, Sarcocystis)
- Coccidia and sporozoa (e.g. Eimeria, Nosema)
- Trematodes and cestodes (e.g. Fasciola, Taenia, Echinococcus)
- Nematodes (e.g. Ascaris, Enterobius, Trichinella)
- Arthropods and disease vectors (e.g. ticks, mites, lice, fleas, mosquitoes)
The collection includes both whole specimens and sectioned specimens, eggs and developmental stages, allowing morphological characteristics and life cycles to be traced.
