How is it possible to move really heavy telephoto lenses as easily as a feather? With a gimbal suspension mounted on a sturdy tripod! There are several names for this useful instrument, which is particularly common in the USA, where it is called a gimbal head. In German, the technical term Kardankopf is probably the most accurate, although many photographers simply refer to it as Affenschaukel (monkey swing).
The Leofoto PG-1 gimbal head is a great help, especially for photographers who want to track fast-moving subjects from a fixed location with a camera and a long focal length. Just think of sporting events, reportage or even wildlife photography.
