This book provides easy-to-understand answers to basic questions about stargazing. You will learn how to use a telescope and how to find your way around the night sky with the naked eye before you learn about the constellations. Colour illustrations bring the stars closer to you.
Steve Owens and Marcus Schenk then guide you through the entire year and explain when you can observe which stars. From the planets of the solar system to the faint "deep sky objects" in deep space, this book contains everything you need to know for your tour of the night sky.
Author Marcus Schenk has been fascinated by the stars since visiting a planetarium at the age of 15. He is a founding member of the Buchloe Public Observatory in Bavarian Swabia, where he has also been involved in working with children and young people. He has turned his hobby into his profession: he works as a copywriter and content producer for specialist retailer Astroshop.
The author Steve Owens is an astronomer. He was director of the Glasgow Planetarium from 2004 to 2008, organised the International Year of Astronomy in the United Kingdom in 2009 and now works as an author and organiser of stargazing events.
