The Levenhuk 870T is a biological trinocular microscope designed for brightfield observation using transmitted light. It is used in various medical centres for urological, dermatological, biological, biochemical, anatomopathological, cytological and general clinical laboratory examinations. The microscope can be fitted with a digital camera to display images on an external screen, take photographs and record videos. The camera must be purchased separately and is fitted into the trinocular tube.
The head is inclined at 30° and can also be rotated through 360°. The 30° inclination makes it very comfortable for prolonged use. The interpupillary distance is adjustable. The eyepieces have a wide field of view, allowing the user to work comfortably with large specimens. Four plan-achromatic lenses are mounted in a rotatable objective revolver that faces inwards. In this position, you can see the objective, and the space above the microscope stage remains unobstructed.
The horizontal adjustment knob is positioned low down for the user’s comfort. The specimen holder is designed to accommodate two specimens. The focusing knobs allow for coarse and fine adjustment. All movements of the stage are smooth and jerk-free.
The light source is situated beneath the microscope stage and the Abbe condenser. The LED is brightness-controlled and operates on 220 V. Thanks to the LED lighting, the microscope’s resolution is higher than that of analogue instruments with halogen bulbs. Both the aperture diaphragm and the field diaphragm allow for the configuration of Köhler lighting.
