The MAGUS Bio 250BL microscope can be used for laboratory work, scientific research and teaching students. It is designed for viewing thin sections and smears of biological samples in transmitted light. The main observation method is bright field, but it is also possible to use dark field, polarization and phase contrast techniques (with additional accessories).
Optics
The microscope comes with 4 infinity-corrected plan achromatic lenses. They produce well-detailed images with minimal distortion. The lenses are mounted in a turret designed for 5 lenses at a time, leaving one lens mount free. This allows you to use an additional lens to achieve increased magnification within the magnification range. The rotating objective turret is directed inwards.
The position of the microscope head is comfortable for long periods of work. The height of the eyepieces can be adjusted by rotating the eyepiece tubes 360°. The left tube has a diopter adjustment ring and a digital camera can also be attached to it (camera not included).
The magnification range is 40x to 1000x. The upper limit of the magnification range can be increased by adding additional eyepieces.
lighting
The LED lighting allows you to adjust the brightness without changing the colour temperature. The 3-watt LED has a service life of approximately 50,000 hours. The lighting requires a 220 V power supply for operation.
The illumination system includes an Abbe condenser with aperture diaphragm and a slide holder. You can insert either a dark field slide or a phase slide into the slot. This allows you to switch between different research techniques more quickly. The microscope is also equipped with a field diaphragm. This allows you to use the Köhler illumination method.
Microscope stage and focusing mechanism
The most important mechanical feature of the microscope is the microscope stage without a positioning frame. It is easy to use and its mechanism requires little space. The sample is moved via a removable mechanical attachment.
The focusing knobs are located on the underside, where they are more convenient to operate – you do not have to hold your hands up high and can therefore adopt a relaxed posture while working. The coarse drive has a locking knob and a tension adjustment. There is a fine drive. The knobs are located coaxially on both sides of the microscope stand.
