EQMOD is the name of an open source software that allows you to control your mount from your PC. There are various solutions for connecting the PC to the mount. The component EQDIR in the name of many adaptors and interfaces means that a direct connection is established between the PC and the mount, so that the handcontroller is no longer needed.
