Flattener 1.0x M63

The flattener is a lens that evens out the field, as this is slightly curved by the primary optics. This curvature causes stars that are imaged at the edge of the field of view to be less sharp. The flattener, also called a field flattener, corrects this effect. Astrophotographers can then enjoy images where the stars remain sharp right out to the edge of the exposure. The flattener is installed between the telescope and the camera.

This corrector is suitable for refractors with a focal length of 500 mm or more. It offers two connection options for cameras:

• M63x1 internal thread: The generous working distance from this thread is 85 mm. This gives you enough space for accessories such as filter wheels, off-axis guiders and much more.
• The scope of delivery also includes a transition adapter to M48x0.75. The working distance from this thread is exactly 55 mm. This is ideal for connecting DSLR cameras, but also many astro cameras. This method is ideal if you do not want to use any additional accessories between the camera and the flattener.

Ideally suited for

• Refractors with a focal length of 700 mm or more and RC telescopes with an aperture of 10" or more using the working distance of 55 mm with the transition adapter and extension tube.
• Refractors between 600 mm and 700 mm focal length: The working distance is extended by 5 mm.
• Refractors with a focal length between 500 mm and 600 mm: The working distance is extended by 10 mm.

This flattener is not suitable for refractors with even shorter focal lengths.
