The Photoline Triplet APO offers image quality which could previously only be expected from considerably more expensive apochromats. It uses a lens constructed from two special glass types (lanthanum glass and FPL51 by Ohara, Japan). Correction is considerably better than that of comparable ED devices. Colour errors can be kept to a non-disruptive minimum due to the impeccably designed lens. Rather than being grouted, the lens is equipped with an air gap. Every glass-air surface is multi-coated for maximum contrast. It sits within a non-tensioned, temperature-compensated frame. Of course, the lens is adjustable.
The apochromat is ideally suited to astrophotography. We recommend the Field Flattener for image field correction. This is a universal corrector which does not affect the focal length. The corrector is simply inserted into the 2” sleeve or securely screwed on using an M68/M48 adapter. Working distance from M48 thread to the camera sensor is 111mm. The corrector is ideal for DSLR cameras and CCD cameras with smaller sensors.
The high-speed focal ratio allows for short exposure times, even at higher resolutions. Everything from extended nebula regions to small galaxies or planetary nebulae can be photographed incredibly well using this apochromat.
