The advantage of this rack and pinion focuser: The focuser tube bearing and adjustment are decoupled. The focuser tube is precisely mounted on Teflon. Unlike ball-bearing Crayford focusers, the focus tube does not give way even under maximum load. The focus tube is adjusted via a helical gear. The advantage is, on the one hand, very sensitive adjustment even under maximum load, combined with the best possible force transmission. Even heavy cameras are held securely and the field sharpness is maintained.
The focuser is attached to the telescope via an M90x1 internal thread adaptor . It also includes a 360° rotation - guaranteed without tilting. The connection fits directly onto the RC Astrographs from GSO and AstroTec. However, please note that the free opening on the focuser side of your telescope must be at least 74 millimetres. This is the diameter of the focuser tube with the rack. An 81 mm plug connection is also available for DIY projects.
Camera and eyepiece connection: The focuser has an M63x1 connection thread on the camera side. This allows correction systems such as the TS 2.5" full-frame flattener for refractors or the Riccardi M63 reducer for refractors and RC telescopes to be screwed directly onto the focuser.
In addition, a reduction to a 2" plug connection (ring clamp with 3 screws) and a reduction from 2" to 1.25" are of course included in the scope of delivery.
