Endurance 30 FD
The Endurance 30 FD series is designed for hunters and sport shooters looking for dependable performance combined with a particularly powerful reticle illumination system. At the heart of the range is Hawke's Fiber Dot technology, producing an intensely illuminated red aiming point that remains clearly visible even in bright daylight.
Illumination is controlled by a convenient push-button system with 11 brightness levels. Auto Standby combined with motion activation helps conserve battery power when the riflescope is not in use and reactivates the illumination when movement is detected.
A robust 30 mm monotube chassis, practical turret configurations and a high-grip zoom ring with removable throw lever make the Endurance 30 FD series a versatile choice for a wide range of hunting and sporting applications.
Hawke System H5 – High Optical Performance and Wide Field of View
The H5 optical system is designed to deliver a bright, high-contrast and detailed image across a wide range of shooting conditions. High-grade low-dispersion crown glass helps minimise colour fringing and provides a sharp, natural view of the target.
The lenses feature 18-layer fully multi-coated surfaces to optimise light transmission and reduce unwanted reflections. At the same time, the H5 system provides particularly wide fields of view – a significant advantage for rapid target acquisition and tracking moving targets.
The H5 system therefore combines high image quality with a generous field of view, making it equally suitable for fast hunting situations and precise target identification at longer distances.
Endurance 30 FD SF 4,5-27x56
The 4.5–27x56 SF is the high-magnification model within the Endurance 30 FD range, designed for hunters and sport shooters looking to combine substantial magnification reserves with a light-gathering 56 mm objective lens. Its 4.5x starting magnification still provides sufficient overview for many traditional hunting situations, while the 27x maximum magnification enables highly detailed target identification and precise shot placement at extended ranges.
The large 56 mm objective lens provides substantial light-gathering capability and supports a bright image even at higher magnification settings. This makes the model particularly well suited to stand hunting, hunting in open terrain and other applications where target identification and precision at longer distances are key priorities.
The Side Focus parallax adjustment allows precise focusing and parallax correction from 18 metres to infinity. This helps minimise parallax error and supports accurate aiming, particularly when using higher magnifications.
The exposed and locking Zero Lock 'n' Stop elevation turret enables fast, repeatable point-of-impact corrections and a reliable return to the established zero position. The windage turret is also exposed, locking and resettable. Both provide precise 1/4 MOA adjustments with a generous adjustment range of 70 MOA.
This makes the 4.5–27x56 SF particularly suitable for stand hunting, hunting in open terrain and precision target shooting at medium to extended ranges.
LR2 FD (20x)
The LR2 FD (20x) combines the uncluttered characteristics of a traditional hunting reticle with additional ballistic aim points for precise shooting at extended ranges. Its open outer-post design maintains a generous view of the target, while the heavier side and lower posts provide fast and intuitive orientation – even in challenging light conditions.
Along the fine lower vertical post, additional holdover aim points provide references for compensating for bullet drop. This allows changing target distances to be addressed directly through the reticle without having to adjust the elevation turret for every shot. Combined with higher magnification settings, the LR2 FD provides additional capability for precise shooting at medium and extended ranges.
The central Fibre Dot provides a clearly defined and rapidly acquired aiming point. A fine upper post minimises obstruction of the target area. The LR2 FD therefore combines a clean, hunting-oriented reticle layout with additional ballistic references for more demanding shooting situations.
The LR2 FD represents the second generation of Hawke's LR Dot reticle concept. Updated subtensions and BDC hold points are designed to complement modern centrefire cartridges and muzzle velocities.
As the reticle is positioned in the second focal plane (SFP), it maintains the same apparent size as magnification changes. The defined subtensions and ballistic references of the LR2 FD (20x) correspond to 20x magnification.
Fibre Dot – a high-intensity aiming point for changing light conditions
Hawke's FD Fibre Dot technology is designed to provide particularly fast and intuitive target acquisition. Rather than simply illuminating a conventional reticle, the system focuses on an intensely illuminated red aiming point at the centre of the reticle. Fibre-optic illumination produces a bright, clearly defined aiming point that remains highly visible even in bright daylight.
This is especially advantageous in dynamic hunting situations. The eye is naturally drawn towards the bright central aiming point, allowing the target to be acquired quickly, while the remaining reticle structure stays unobtrusive and maintains a clear view of the target. In low-light conditions, illumination intensity can be reduced accordingly to prevent excessive brightness and maintain comfortable target acquisition.
Intuitive operation
The illumination can be adjusted quickly and easily to changing light conditions and shooting situations. This helps keep the aiming point clearly visible in both bright daylight and low-light conditions without unnecessarily dominating the sight picture.Automatic standby functionOn suitably equipped models, an automatic standby function helps conserve battery power. When the riflescope remains stationary for a period of time, the illumination can enter standby mode and reactivate when movement is detected again.
This reduces the need to repeatedly switch the illumination on and off manually during a day in the field, while ensuring that the illuminated aiming point is quickly available again when the riflescope is brought into use.
The practical advantage
FD technology therefore combines the precision of a conventional riflescope reticle with the intuitive target acquisition of a highly visible red aiming point. At low magnification, the Fibre Dot supports rapid target acquisition and engagement of moving targets; at higher magnification, it provides a clearly defined central aiming reference for precise shot placement.
