Optical system
The Hawke H2 optical system uses fully multi-coated lenses with 11 coating layers. These coatings improve light transmission and contribute to a clear, high-contrast and detailed image.A fast-focus eyepiece allows quick adjustment of the dioptre setting to the individual user.
The Hawke Vantage HD 30 1-8x24 offers a highly versatile 1–8x magnification range. At low magnification, its wide field of view allows rapid orientation and target acquisition, while higher magnification provides a more detailed view of targets at longer distances.
The 24 mm objective lens helps keep the riflescope compact and lightweight. Depending on the selected magnification, the field of view ranges from 38.3 to 4.8 m at 100 m.
5.56 Tactical BDC Reticle
The 5.56 Tactical BDC reticle has been specifically designed around the ballistic characteristics of 5.56 ammunition. Its BDC (Bullet Drop Compensation) markings provide additional holdover points to compensate for bullet drop at different distances, supporting fast and precise aiming.
An illuminated centre dot and horseshoe allow rapid target acquisition, while additional windage and holdover markings assist with more precise corrections at longer distances.
The reticle is positioned in the second focal plane (SFP). The BDC markings are designed for use at 8x magnification. For optimum visibility against different backgrounds and in varying lighting conditions, the reticle can be illuminated in either red or green, with five brightness levels available for each colour.
Robust construction
The riflescope is built around a durable 30 mm monotube chassis. It is nitrogen purged to prevent internal fogging and is designed to be waterproof, fog proof and shockproof, making it suitable for use in changing outdoor conditions. Capped low-profile adjustment turrets help prevent accidental changes to the settings during use or transport.
Handling and zoom
The knurled magnification ring allows fast and secure adjustment of the magnification. A removable XL zoom throw lever provides additional leverage and makes switching between different magnification settings particularly quick and convenient.
