Optical system
The Hawke H2 optical system uses fully multi-coated lenses with 11 coating layers. These coatings improve light transmission and contribute to a clear, high-contrast and detailed image.A fast-focus eyepiece allows quick adjustment of the dioptre setting to the individual user.
Vantage HD 3-15x44 SF FFP
The 3–15x44 SF combines a versatile magnification range with the features of a modern precision riflescope. At 3x magnification, it provides a wide field of view for rapid target acquisition and shorter distances, while the 15x maximum magnification offers detailed target identification and precise aiming at extended ranges.
The 44 mm objective lens allows for a comparatively compact design and provides a balanced compromise between light transmission, overall dimensions and mounting height. Side Focus provides precise focusing and parallax correction from just 9 metres to infinity, making the scope equally suitable for rimfire and airgun applications.
A Zero Stop elevation turret allows the shooter to return quickly and reliably to the established zero position, while the exposed, locking windage turret helps prevent accidental adjustment. FFP Mil Pro II (15x)
The FFP Mil Pro II is a versatile MRAD reticle designed for precision shooting and reliable hold corrections at varying distances. Its finely graduated Mil layout allows shooters to compensate for bullet drop and wind drift directly through the reticle while also providing useful references for range estimation.
½ Mil markings extend to 10 Mil of holdover, providing numerous precise aiming references for extended-range shooting. A see-through central area maintains a clear view of small targets, while the heavier outer posts provide fast orientation even at lower magnification settings.
As the Mil Pro II is positioned in the first focal plane, its MRAD subtensions remain correct throughout the entire magnification range. Combined with the scope's 1/10 MRAD turret adjustments, this creates a consistent Mil/Mil system: corrections observed through the reticle can be transferred directly to the adjustment turrets.
First Focal Plane Reticle – FFP
With a First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle, the apparent size of the reticle changes proportionally with magnification. As a result, the relationship between the target and the reticle remains constant throughout the entire zoom range.
Holdover and windage references as well as the reticle graduations used for range estimation therefore retain their defined angular values at every magnification setting. This is particularly beneficial when shooting at varying distances, as there is no need to select a specific magnification for accurate use of the reticle.
At lower magnification the reticle appears finer and provides an uncluttered field of view, while at higher magnification it increases in size together with the target image, allowing precise use of the individual aiming references.
