Optical system
The Hawke H2 optical system uses fully multi-coated lenses with 11 coating layers. These coatings improve light transmission and contribute to a clear, high-contrast and detailed image.A fast-focus eyepiece allows quick adjustment of the dioptre setting to the individual user.
Vantage HD 5-25x56 SF FFP
The 5–25x56 SF is the Vantage HD 34 FFP model specifically geared towards precision shooting at medium to extended ranges. Its broad magnification range provides a useful overview at 5x, while the 25x maximum magnification enables detailed target observation and precise shot placement at longer distances.
The large 56 mm objective lens supports a bright image even at high magnification. Side Focus allows precise focusing and parallax correction from just 9 metres to infinity, making the riflescope suitable not only for conventional long-range shooting but also for precision rimfire and airgun disciplines.
A Zero Stop elevation turret provides a fast and reliable return to the established zero, while the locking windage adjustment helps prevent accidental changes. This makes the 5–25x56 SF particularly well suited to precision target shooting, competition and demanding extended-range applications.
FFP Mil Pro II (25x)
The FFP Mil Pro II (25x) is a precision MRAD reticle designed for target shooting and demanding applications at extended ranges. ½ Mil markings extending to 10 Mil of holdover provide numerous reference points for compensating for bullet drop and wind drift directly through the reticle.
Additional fine Mil graduations assist with range estimation and precise corrections, while numbered markings along the lower section provide quick and intuitive orientation. The open central aiming area maintains a clear view of small targets, while hollowed heavier outer posts ensure the reticle remains easy to acquire at lower magnification settings.
As the Mil Pro II is positioned in the first focal plane, its MRAD subtensions remain accurate throughout the entire magnification range. Combined with the riflescope's 1/10 MRAD turret adjustments, this creates a consistent Mil/Mil system: corrections measured through the reticle can be transferred directly to the adjustment turrets.
First Focal Plane Reticle – FFP
With a First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle, the apparent size of the reticle changes proportionally with magnification. As a result, the relationship between the target and the reticle remains constant throughout the entire zoom range.
Holdover and windage references as well as the reticle graduations used for range estimation therefore retain their defined angular values at every magnification setting. This is particularly beneficial when shooting at varying distances, as there is no need to select a specific magnification for accurate use of the reticle.
At lower magnification the reticle appears finer and provides an uncluttered field of view, while at higher magnification it increases in size together with the target image, allowing precise use of the individual aiming references.
