The VX®-3 combines all the technical knowledge we have gained in over 100 years. It was designed, machined and assembled by experts who understand their optical craft and enjoy their work as much as you enjoy hunting.
Illuminated reticle
Our latest third-generation illuminated reticle makes target acquisition easier than ever before. We have increased the light intensity in the strongest setting by 15 per cent and incorporated eight different intensity settings, an innovative time-out function, two integrated battery compartments and user-friendly on/off functions.
Light intensity
You can choose the perfect light intensity for any lighting situation. As light conditions change throughout the day, one setting would never be enough. That's why our 3rd generation light unit offers the flexibility that makes the difference between a hit and a miss.
Leupold's Motion Sensor Technology (MST)
The VX-3 uses Leupold's Motion Sensor Technology (MST). The lighting automatically switches to "standby" after five minutes of inactivity. It switches back on as soon as the rifle is moved. This extends the battery life.
User-friendly
An "OFF" setting is positioned between each brightness level so that the selected light intensity can be accessed immediately if required without having to cycle through all the intensity levels. To ensure that the illumination unit is switched off, an "off" stop has been incorporated at both ends of the adjustment range.
Battery compartment for spare batteries
A conventional CR-2032 battery supplies power to the lighting unit. Compartments for spare batteries are located under the height and side adjustment covers.
Quantum Optical System
VX-3 riflescopes are manufactured using Leupold's Quantum Optical System. Precision-ground, lead-free lenses are carefully selected, given the Xtended Twilight coating and then positioned in optimal relation to each other to achieve the highest degree of light transmission and optical clarity.
DiamondCoat 2
The external lens surfaces are given a multi-layer DiamondCoat 2 coating. This exceeds military standards for hardness and durability and enhances light transmission for a brighter, higher-contrast image.
Leupold's second generation waterproof seal
A new gas mixture of argon and krypton was used in the design of the VX-3 to provide a waterproof seal. The molecules of these gases are significantly larger than those of nitrogen. This significantly reduces the diffusion of gases in the riflescope compared to nitrogen filling.
