An excellent image at every distance
Many high-magnification riflescopes produce their best images at both ends of the magnification spectrum, while the middle settings lack clarity and resolution. The VX®-6 has been designed from the ground up to deliver the highest image quality across the entire field of view and magnification range. 6:1 magnification range, 6x erector system with twin bias springs
Our double leaf spring system made of a beryllium-copper alloy withstands the toughest conditions. Built with up to 30 percent more holding power, it prevents play and tension in the reversal system.
Generous VX-6 eye relief
With the generous eye relief of the VX-6 series, the shooter has the full field of view available at every magnification setting without any shadows in the peripheral area. When it comes to long-range shots, you will appreciate the generous flexibility of the VX-6. For close-range shots at powerful game or when hunting dangerous big game, the fast target acquisition made possible by the large field of view: over 38 m at 100 m makes all the difference. Even at high magnifications, the generous eye relief and long eye relief give you plenty of room to take full advantage of the field of view (see comparison with a competitor). With the new VX-6, you get the full field of view and superior edge sharpness at all magnifications. This gives you the opportunity to take the shot of a lifetime.
FireDot lighting
Illuminated VX-6 reticles feature the extremely bright FireDot. The flat, state-of-the-art 1-button control allows hunters to choose between 12 brightness levels for the reticle. The highest setting is 10% brighter, the lowest 10% darker than the standard FireDot illumination. The exclusive Motion Sensor Technology (MST™) automatically switches off the lighting after five minutes of inactivity – and switches it back on as soon as movement is detected.
Pop-up re-zero/CDS sight adjustment
The VX-6 is easy to zero in and works like a charm with the pop-up re-zero click adjustment, which can be exchanged for a custom reticle adjustment (Custom Dial System). This unique system allows you to zero in your riflescope to the desired load and environmental conditions.
Quantum Optical System with Xtended Twilight Coating
Technically speaking, light transmission is expressed as a specific percentage of the VISIBLE LIGHT SPECTRUM of the green wavelength, to which the human eye is most sensitive. The challenge for use at dusk is that the green light spectrum disappears and is replaced by blue-violet wavelengths that cannot be easily perceived by the human eye. If your riflescope then absorbs even more of the blue-violet light spectrum, you will see almost nothing in the dark. The Xtended Twilight lens system is precisely matched to the coatings and glass indices to achieve the best possible transmission in the blue-violet range. With this advantage, available only from Leupold, you can take advantage of every last bit of light at dusk or dawn and improve your chances of getting the shot of a lifetime.
Unsurpassed scratch resistance
The surface of the outer lenses is coated with our exclusive DiamondCoat 2 coating – the best protection against scratches we have ever offered and which exceeds even military requirements. DiamondCoat 2 offers unmatched durability and enhances light transmission for a brighter, clearer and more contrast-rich image.
Blackened lens edges prevent reflections and false light. The blackened edges absorb stray light instead of reflecting it. This results in better resolution, contrast and superior optical performance, no matter what the conditions.
Lead- and arsenic-free glass lenses
The VX-6 offers better optical performance thanks to carefully ground and polished, lead-free glass lenses. In addition to their outstanding optical values, these lenses are manufactured without environmentally hazardous by-products, which are often found in normal glass production.
Eyepieces with "Fast Focus" diopter adjustment
The new diopter adjustment is extremely fast, giving you a sharp image in any situation. Whether at close or long range, the VX-6's diopter adjustment is smooth, fast and precise. An alumina eye protection ring with rubber insert is included with every riflescope.
Leupold 2nd generation waterproofing
Leupold paved the way for waterproofing, which is now considered the industry standard for optical products. To achieve this, the lenses were filled with nitrogen, which prevents fogging and moisture penetration. To raise the bar even higher, VX-6 lenses take advantage of 2nd generation waterproofing with an argon/krypton gas mixture. The combination of these gases resists heat fluctuations more effectively and prevents long-term diffusion from the interior of the riflescope. Waterproofing is guaranteed.
