Leupold's Motion Sensor Technology (MST)
The VX-R models use Leupold's proprietary Motion Sensor Technology. A simple push of the button activates the illumination unit. Eight different illumination levels are available. The exclusive FireDot reticle automatically enters standby mode when the glass has not been moved for five minutes and reactivates itself as soon as the weapon is moved. This minimises unnecessary switching and conserves battery power.
Precision click adjustment
Click adjustment for elevation and windage (1/4 MOA), absolutely repeatable and reliable, for life, even under extreme conditions. (FireDot 4 reticle adjustment in CM, 1 click = 1 cm)
30 mm centre tube
Compared to the inch version, the robust centre tube allows a larger reticle adjustment range, both in height and side adjustment.
Reversal system with double spring and superior optical quality
Our double leaf spring system made of a beryllium-copper alloy can withstand the toughest conditions. Built with up to 30% more holding power, it prevents play and tension in the reversal system.
Blackened lens edges
A unique feature that has a beneficial effect on light transmission. The blackened lens edges help to reduce stray light, resulting in higher resolution, better contrast and superior optical performance. No matter what the conditions.
Index Matched Lens System
Exclusive to Leupold! This system represents Leupold's outstanding light management. Leupold developed special, different coatings for each lens surface in the riflescope based on the refractive index of the lenses, lens position and function.
Each layer is designed to maximise light transmission. The result is an extremely bright and sharp image across the entire field of view.
Maximum abrasion resistance
All external lens coatings consist of DiamondCoat, an ion-based coating that supports optimal light management and is incomparably scratch-resistant.
Lead- and arsenic-free glass lenses
For the sake of the environment, Leupold does not use any environmentally hazardous by-products in the manufacture of lenses for its VX-R riflescopes.
Absolutely waterproof
All VX-R riflescopes take advantage of 2nd generation waterproofing, which is achieved through an argon/krypton gas mixture. This prevents long-term diffusion inside the riflescope, resists heat fluctuations and ensures absolute waterproofing.
