The Discovery Artisan 512 digital microscope was specially designed for studying opaque samples. Thanks to the polarisation filter, even shiny objects can be observed perfectly, as this special filter eliminates annoying reflections . The microscope is ideal for working with jewellery, circuit boards, minerals, coins, small metal objects, minerals and biological samples. With the integrated camera, you can also take pictures and videos. This can be very useful if you want to archive your observations digitally.
The camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels and is equipped with 8 LEDs for lighting. The brightness of the lighting can be adjusted to suit the situation. The camera allows magnifications of 10–300x, and with the additional digital zoom, very high magnifications of up to 1200x are possible. The colourful, detailed image is displayed on the integrated 12.7 cm LCD screen. The screen also makes longer work with the instrument much more comfortable than with the eyepiece of a conventional microscope. The colour screen has a fine resolution and is rich in detail.
The microscope can also be connected to external monitors, televisions or computers. All necessary cables are included in the set. Therefore, you do not need to purchase anything else. To take photos and videos, you need a memory card; this is not included. The instrument works with microSD cards with a capacity of up to 32 GB. The microscope comes with software that you should install on a computer. This allows you to measure objects: you can measure radius, diameter, length, angle (with three points) and much more.
The microscope is powered by a power pack or integrated rechargeable battery, which provides up to 3 hours of continuous operation.
