If you don't want to extend the three tripod legs to different lengths to compensate for uneven ground, the Ranger LS-284CEX is an alternative to the LS-284C. Instead of under a rigid head plate, the tripod legs are joined together under a levelling base. With up to 15° of tilt in each direction, it allows the generally desired horizontal camera alignment in many situations. An extremely useful adjustment aid, especially for video and panoramic shots!
