Micro Focuser Skywatcher MC 150 & MC 180

A micro focuser is a reduction gear that allows for sensitive focusing. Many focusers already have such a reduction gear or can be retrofitted with one.

Microfocusing is very convenient for visual observation and absolutely essential for astrophotography.

This microfocus unit fits the larger Skywatcher Maksutovs with 150 mm and 180 mm apertures; the smaller models (90-127 mm) are not suitable for conversion.

Mounting is very easy: first remove the rubber coating from the original knob. Then remove the three mounting screws from the tube and reattach the microfocus unit with these three screws. Finally, tighten the three small grub screws in the inner part, which will then clamp the shaft in the focuser.
