Lens solar filters for observation in white light
- The filter foil is clamped flat between two rings made of aluminium
- Continuously adjustable clamp on the tube
- Suitable for all telescope designs with the exception of the Schiefspiegler, also for finder scopes and binoculars
The solar filter is securely fixed to the tube or dew shield by four polyamide threaded columns with precisely adjustable clamping action. If necessary, e.g. for public tours, the filters can be additionally secured and can then only be removed by deliberate action.
The AstroSolar filter film from Baader-Planetarium, known for its excellent optical quality, is used with a density of ND3.8 for photographic applications only.
Which filter is suitable for your telescope? In the product name, you can see the telescope tube’s external diameter, where the filter fits. You cannot determine the filter size from the telescope aperture as many instruments have a fixed dew shield in place. It is best to measure your telescope’s external diameter and then choose the correct filter.
