The Acuter Solarus-80 is a solar telescope with a safe, permanently mounted white light solar filter made of glass. This allows you to safely, quickly and easily observe sunspots, solar eclipses and the transit of inner planets in front of the sun (meaning Mercury; we will not experience the next Venus transit).
The Acuter Solarus-80 has a built-in filter wheel with pre-installed filters so that the sun can be viewed in different colours: Filter wheel with red, yellow, blue, green, orange & ND (neutral density) filters, with practical filter display.
It comes with a universal Smartphone holder so that you can capture your observations photographically.
The Acuter Solarus-80 complies with the ISO 12312-2:2015 standard (filters for direct observation of the sun).
Acuter's clever and automatic sun tracker mount is extremely user-friendly and makes solar observation with a solar telescope particularly safe by automatically finding and tracking the sun.
Simply set up the tripod in a reasonably level position and point the solar telescope somewhere to the left of the sun, and the Acuter solar tracker will do the rest automatically! At the touch of a button, the telescope is levelled and the mount calculates the altitude and azimuth of the sun using GPS , based on the local time and location. The telescope is then moved to the required height and the mount begins to search for the Sun in a clockwise direction. The Sun sensor detects the Sun and ensures that it remains in the eyepiece's field of view at all times.
The Acuter Sun Tracker mount can be used by educational institutions, beginners and experienced observers alike. Once you have mounted your telescope on the mount, it is a great aid for observing sunspots, solar eclipses, surface details on the Sun and transits of the inner planets across the Sun.
