The first portable sundial that masters our modern time standard: you can read Central European Time (CET) or any other time zone in the world.
The Icarus remains true to its origins: the origin of our time measurement, the apparent movement of the sun around the earth from east to west, can be followed in real time on the sundial. The shadow shows you where in the world the sun is at its highest point at that moment, i.e. where it is currently noon.
- Portable travel sundial with display of any time zone in the world (e.g. Central European Time CET/CEST) or solar time (WOZ)
- Integrated worldmap with accurate projection of the northern and southern hemispheres, display of the global midday position (culmination) of the sun
- Scales for setting the date, latitude, longitude and time equation. Diagrams for reading the time equation and the position of the sun in the zodiac
- Meridian disc, time ring and world disc made of anodised aluminium, equator ring and functional parts made of brass and stainless steel. Scales and inscriptions applied in sub-anodised print, making them scratch-resistant and permanently protected
- Collapsible for transport and can be carried on a belt in a durable Cordura bag.
The Icarus is also a sun compass that works without a magnetic needle and can be used as a navigator.
The oldest timepiece known to mankind, featuring elegant design and precision craftsmanship – these are the sundials from Helios.
