I definitely recommend this product as a nice travel telescope,
which you can take anywhere with you for a starry sky observations,
it provides a rich-field views, which larger talascopes can't offer.
Highlights:
- quite well done, simple screw-in focuser is decent for the given price
- accepts standard 1.25" eyepieces - It is the most important feature.
With 24mm 68° I can have ultra-wide-field 8.2° telescope for large clusters,
star clouds or dark/bright nebulas observation. Yet with 3mm eyepiece,
I can obeserve even a very tight double stars. While with 11mm 82° eyepice
I can have beautiful observation of the Dumbell nebula with a rich starfield
of the Milky way.
- decent optics - if well collimated it is able to resolve 4" double stars
without a problem. Pretty nice achievement for a 50 mm spherical mirror
- bright f/4 focal ratio - thanks to its short 200mm focal length, I can
observe wide and even can make some entry level deep sky astrophotography.
I've made some decent deep-sky images with the telescope and a small camera
with monochrome IMX662 sensor and 4 seconds subframes plus one hour of
integration.
- some example objects I observed successfuly
- North America nebula - clearly seen with UHC filter and 24mm 68°
- Dark Cigar nebula (B168) - clearly seen with averted vision and 24mm 68°
- Alpha Persei cluster (Melotte 20) - dozens of bright stars sparkling,
filling the whole field, beautiful. Eyepiece - 11mm 82°
- Rho Herculis double star - splitted most of the time with 3mm eyepiece
- super small, light weight!
- price!
Drawbacks
- missing front cap! - I think it should be included, even with that price
- red-dot finder would be nice
