The ZWO ASI992MM Pro sets new standards in the SWIR range: it combines a specialised InGaAs sensor with high sensitivity in the range up to around 1.7 µm, powerful two-stage cooling, low readout noise and solid data storage.
Anyone who wants to perform imaging in the short-wave infrared range – whether in astronomy or industrial/scientific applications – will find this a powerful tool.
The camera allows photography of stars through cloud cover and even during the day.
The cooling system requires an external 12-volt power supply. The camera's USB power supply is not sufficient for this purpose. We recommend a 12V, 3-5A power pack with a 5.5x2.1mm plug, inner pole positive, or a lithium-ion battery with 11-14 volts. A power supply outside this voltage range can cause irreparable damage to the camera.
