The Airking series
Airking riflescopes have been developed to meet the ever-growing popularity of air rifle hunting. Air rifles, which accelerate their projectiles to speeds almost equivalent to .22 rimfire cartridges with the aid of special springs, are subject to extreme recoil forces that can often damage the optics.
The models in the Airking series have been specially developed to withstand these enormous stresses. When mounted with the one-piece 3/8" dovetail mount, the Airking remains accurate shot after shot. This effect was further improved in 2008 with the addition of anti-recoil screws, which ensure an even more robust connection between the riflescope and the rifle.
The riflescope is made from a single piece and has a centre tube diameter of 24.5 mm, which not only makes the riflescope robust but also significantly improves your accuracy.
High-quality lenses are used for additional clarity. These improve lens quality thanks to new production processes and lens technology. Furthermore, Airking scopes feature improved optical coatings. These special coatings reduce light reflection on the lens surface, allowing more light to reach the hunter's eye and thus providing a better view of the field. Many competitors only use coloured lens tints to achieve this effect.
Another highlight are the rubberised adjustment knobs – for both elevation and windage adjustment, of course – as these allow very precise adjustment with 1/4 M.O.A. per click. The parallax can also be adjusted to your requirements using the adjustable objective (AO).
The Airking 4-12x42 has the following features:
Optically, it offers adjustable magnification between 4x and 12x and a front lens diameter of 42 mm. The exit pupil is therefore between 10.5 and 3.5. A field of view of up to 9.6 m at 100 m is also extremely comfortable.
The reticle is an illuminated half mil dot reticle. It is designed so that you can hunt with an eye relief of between 65 mm and 75 mm and always have your targets clearly in view at dusk and in the dark. Thanks to the special coating mentioned above, the instrument achieves a twilight factor of between 13.0 and 22.5.
