The Z4 is a sextuplet astrograph with three lenses as objectives and three lenses in the integrated image field flattener (flattener) at the rear, each of which is made of special ED glass.
The Z4 Apo therefore flattens the image field itself, so that no calculation of the flange focal distance is necessary. You can simply bring the object into focus and the optical system is perfectly adjusted for imaging. It is ideal for capturing breathtaking deep sky wide-angle images over an image circle of 36 mm (APS-C).
This fast apochromatic telescope offers excellent value for money! This is especially true in combination with astronomical cameras with smaller 1" and 4/3" sensors. The Z4 is not recommended for full-frame cameras.
The entire tube has a length of only 482 mm with the dew shield retracted. It weighs 4.3 kg. This Astrograph has a flange focal distance of 55 mm, so that conventional M48 rings work well when using DSLR cameras and you can use astronomical cameras with accessories.
The Z4 has a large 3.4" focuser with a 1:10 fine adjustment knob and a 360° rotator for easy focusing and angle adjustment. It has M86, M68, M54 and M48 adaptors, with the M48 adaptor having an internal thread into which 2" filters can be inserted.
The 300 mm long prism rail, in accordance with the Vixen standard, makes it easy to balance on the equatorial mount.
