More about the series ESPRIT...
The ESPRIT series of apochromatic refractors are the first choice for demanding observers and astrophotographers! The three-lens apochromats feature an objective lens made from an ED element from Ohara, Japan. This guarantees true-colour images from the Moon to deep sky objects.
Sky-Watcher's own "Metallic High-Transmission Coating" (MHTC) is the highest quality Antireflex coating in its class and ensures a bright image.
The Esprit EDX Apo Triplets are designed for demanding astrophotographers, but also allow for pure visual observation. The corrected optical system produces images with no perceptible colour aberration, even with the brightest objects, and with exceptional contrast and sharpness!
The Esprit-70EDX is a new model in the series and is particularly compact. Hoya FCD100 glass from Japan is used as the ED element. Each glass-air surface has been coated using the Skywatcher MHTC process to achieve maximum light transmission of 99.5%.
The extremely stable, CNC-machined Linear Power focuser with reduction gear has a high payload and no backlash. It is equipped with a 2.8" focuser tube with scale. The focuser is not rotatable, but the telescope comes with a rotation adapter that helps to optimally align the sensor with the celestial object.
