The SkyMax 200DX maksutov cassegrain telescope is a premium 200mm f/10 aplanatic optical system, built for the experienced astrophotographer and observer who desires exceptional sharpness, maximum contrast and a uniform flat field across the entire image circle.
The SkyMax 200 DX features an unusual optical design that effectively suppresses off-axis coma and provides an optimised, completely flat image field right to the edge of the field. With its large 44 mm image circle, it provides distortion-free imaging that meets even the highest demands for sharpness in deep sky observation and high-resolution astrophotography.
With an effective aperture of 200 mm and a focal length of 2000 mm at an aperture ratio of f/10, this telescope resolves even the finest surface details on the Moon and the planets of our solar system and delivers excellent results even with smaller deep-sky objects such as planetary nebulae.
For photography, the 44 mm, fully illuminated and corrected image circle makes the telescope perfectly suited for modern cameras with full-frame sensors. For photographers who want a larger field of view and shorter exposure times, there is an optional 0.7x focal reducer that extends the range of use to a faster telescope with f/7.
The built-in fan and ventilated primary mirror cell ensure rapid temperature control of the telescope.
The telescope is equipped with a relatively small secondary mirror, which limits the obstruction to 22% (based on the area) to enable maximum contrast and the finest details.
