The compact Sky-Watcher K100 Klevtsov-Cassegrain optical system is an interesting catadioptric design, consisting of a primary mirror and a secondary mirror, and also featuring a small corrector lens in front of the secondary mirror. This allows the telescope’s focal length to be condensed into a relatively compact Format, ideal for observation of double stars or surface details of the Moon or the brighter planets.
The telescope is fitted with a friction focuser featuring two focus knobs (patented design), which moves the primary mirrors to achieve focus.
In addition, a distance scale has been fitted to indicate the position of the focuser for bringing objects at distances of 8 m, 14 m and infinity into sharp focus. This focuser design enables particularly quick focusing without the need for much trial and error.
The Vixen-standard mounting rail is fitted with a 1/4-inch thread for camera screws and is mounted on the side.
