An apochromat with integrated corrector for astrophotography – extreme image quality in the field and, of course, on the axis.
The 100 mm f/5.8 quadruplet was developed for the demanding astrophotographer and observer. The image is free of colour errors and offers excellent contrast. The built-in corrector ensures that the field is perfectly flattened. You will have perfect star images in the field right from the start, without the tedious search for correctors and the right distance.
Important features:
- Integrated flattener ensures a corrected image field of 49 mm: Fully illuminated even for full-frame cameras
- New 4" CNC rack and pinion focuser, also very well suited for heavy cameras up to 8 kg!
- The objective and corrector are adjustable. Each telescope is tested and adjusted by the manufacturer.
- Generous working distance: The telescope can also be used for visual observation with an optional diagonal mirror.
- Back focus: 125 mm from 2" barrel, 145 mm from M82x1 thread
The apochromat features a classic triplet apochromatic lens with air gap and a single-lens corrector (flattener). The objective is mounted in an adjustable position. The mount is temperature-compensated, so even low temperatures do not affect the star image. The main glass is FPL53 from Ohara, Japan. Each glass-air surface has the best possible coating available from the manufacturer.
The 4" CNC focuser is significantly superior to conventional Crayford focusers. Power is transmitted by a helical drive rod and is decoupled from the actual bearing of the focuser tube. This achieves greater rigidity even under maximum load.
Although the Apo has been optimised for astrophotography, it also offers very good visual performance. The stars are crisp and sharp and are reproduced without colour aberrations. The image remains sharp and high-contrast up to approximately 300x magnification.
