Product description

The AP 80/480 optics offer the highest optical and mechanical performance for astrophotography and amateur astronomy. Even at high magnifications, the image is free of annoying colour aberrations. Even bright stars are rendered without annoying blue fringes in astrophotographs.

The APO element is made of special FPL55 glass. Another special glass supports colour correction. The triplet lens with air gap is fully adjustable. Each optical glass-air surface is multi-coated. The objective is in a temperature-compensated, adjustable mount.

The Apo is very compact and is well supported by small mounts from the EQ3 class upwards. It is ideal for mobile use. The extra-long prism rail allows even heavy cameras to be used while still keeping the telescope in balance.

The 2.5" rack & pinion focuser is optimised for photography and can carry accessories weighing up to 6 kilograms. The reduction gear allows for sensitive focusing. The focuser accepts accessories with 2" and 1.25" barrel extensions, but also allows screw-in adaptation via the M63x1 internal thread. The focuser also offers 360° rotation for selecting the right image section.
