More about the series Photon...
This Newtonian offers top performance for observation and photography:
- The contrast with the Moon and planets is very good. The image and resolution of the Moon and planets is equivalent to that of a high-quality 4" apochromatic refractor - for a fraction of the price.
- Nebulae and galaxies are already visible with fine structures. The 150 mm aperture provides you with about twice as much light as a 114 mm aperture. With a 2" overview eyepiece, you can observe a field that is about 5 times as large as the full moon. This turns the Newton into a real comet finder and large-field telescope.
- The f/6 focal ratio also makes the telescope well suited for astrophotography. Smaller chips even do without a coma corrector. We have suitable coma correctors in our range for medium or larger CCD and DSLR cameras.
The 2" Crayford focuser: Simpler Newtonian telescopes have a 1.25" focuser – sometimes not even made of metal. This focuser is, of course, made of metal. The focuser tube is ball-bearing mounted. Even heavy cameras and eyepieces can be carried without any problems, and sensitive focusing is still possible. The focuser is supplied with a reduction to 1.25". The 1.25" and 2" accessories are clamped gently and securely by a ring clamp.
The focus position has been optimised for photographic work, so a 35 mm extension is required for visual use. Our recommended accessories include one for 1.25" and one for 2" plug-in dimensions.
