More about the series Photon...
This Newtonian reflector telescope from the Photon series, with a 200 mm aperture and 1200 mm focal length, is ideal for visual observation and photography of the Moon and planets. The long focal length allows high magnification of planets, but also planetary nebulae, such as the famous Ring Nebula or the spectacular Owl Nebula.
With a 200 mm aperture and relatively little shadowing from the secondary mirror, even difficult deep sky objects can be tackled and observed with fully illuminated 2" eyepieces. The view is comparable to a 6" refracting telescope, but free of colour errors!
The high-quality parabolic primary mirror made of quartz has very low thermal expansion. This means that the telescope is quickly ready for use and stable in alignment.
Fields of application:
- The telescope is optimised for visual observation and for photography of the moon and planets. For both applications, the focus position of 40mm above the 2" receptacle is optimal.
- With astronomical cameras you can get into focus without any problems. A coma corrector is not necessary up to a sensor size of about 20mm diameter.
- DSLR cameras, on the other hand, require a barlow lens that pulls the focal plane further out. Very suitable is Omegon 2x ED Barlow lense 2".
