More about the series Gran Turismo...
In brief:
- New design with integrated focuser
- High-quality optics for astrophotography
- Also suitable for heavy full-frame cameras
- Advantages of the WO "Red Cat" have also been incorporated
The GranTurismo refractors from William Optics are known for their FPL53 glass, which ensures the highest colour purity and the best contrast. A refracting telescope that is versatile and leaves nothing to be desired.
- Visual observation: Equipped with an optional diagonal mirror, you can observe the moon and planets with the highest possible contrast. The fast Apo also allows for long-term observation of difficult deep sky objects: star clusters, galaxies and nebulae. The crisp star image makes observing and resolving globular clusters a real pleasure.
- For astrophotography, we recommend the Flat6AIII image field flattener and focal length reducer (flattener/reducer) from William Optics. The optics deliver a flat field with the same focus position even for full-frame cameras. Using the prism rail mount integrated into the handle, you can equip your Gran Turismo with a guiding scope, which can serve as a finder or guide scope.
William Optics has now further developed the GT81 and presents the "WIFD" model with built-in focuser – making astrophotography even more precise! The "WILLIAM OPTICS Internal Focus Design" (WIFD) is an innovative and revolutionary design that combines a precise (patented) internal focusing mechanism with the highest quality optics available, offering the ultimate apochromatic refractor for astrophotography. Designed from the ground up to handle even the largest, heaviest, cooled cameras, this optics is uncompromising in its quality. The movement of the focuser is integrated into the main tube, so no adjustments are visible from the outside.
The user can enjoy the benefits of a conventional focuser with two fine focusers without having to worry about the limitations normally found with conventional rear-mounted focusers (vignetting). The integrated position indicator window on the focuser allows immediate checking of the graduated numerical display.
The internal movement of the optical elements is protected from the elements and cannot become misaligned. In addition, the weight is distributed more evenly in/on the tube. Inspired by the enormous success of the "CAT" astrograph series, William Optics has taken the advantages for astrophotography to the next level with this design. The solid tube has no weight restrictions on the photographic accessories used, and the tube clamps and dovetail base in the improved "CAT" design are lighter but remain just as rigid. The GT81 WIFD allows for better balance with heavy accessories. The popular WO handle is included in the scope of delivery.
The built-in field rotator design allows for smooth camera rotation with degree markings and a knurled screw to prevent accidental camera movement.
The very robust Gran Turismo Apo is really well suited for travel and for mobile astronomy and astrophotography in general. Take the Apo with you under a dark sky and discover the best objects from the Messier and NGC catalogues. The telescope is uncomplicated, stable and, after first light, will be your new favourite telescope!
The flattener shown in the photos and the guidescope are not included in the scope! This is item 62653, "Adjustable Flattener Flat6AIII.
