Compact diagonal mirrors for observation with Imaging Star Apos
The Imaging Star Apos are optimised for photography. On some of these telescopes, the distance from the camera mount to the focus is too short to use conventional diagonal mirrors. Thanks to its compact design, this diagonal mirror nevertheless allows for visual observation: you can easily bring all 1.25" eyepieces into focus.
Adaptation:
- If you wish to use the diagonal mirrors with the AP 71/347 Imaging Star, you will need the 65 mm threaded adapter supplied with the diagonal mirrors. Unscrew the rotation adapter from the Apo’s focuser, then you can screw the diagonal mirrors directly into the Apo’s 65 mm internal thread.
- With the Imaging Star Apo AP 102/520 and AP 130/650 models , the diagonal mirrors are simply attached in place of the M48 camera adapter. To do this, you must remove the 65 mm threaded adapter from the diagonal mirrors; you will not need it.
- If you wish to use the diagonal mirrors on the Imaging Star AP 80/352, you will also need the adapter with item number 52337 (see ‘Recommended Accessories’). Here too, you must remove the 65 mm threaded adapter.
