Short diagonal mirrors for observation with Imaging Star Apos
The Imaging Star Apos are optimised for photography. The distance from the camera port to the focus of some of these telescopes is too short to use conventional diagonal mirrors. This diagonal mirrors still offers the possibility of visual observation thanks to a consistent short design: you can easily reach the focus with all 1.25" eyepieces.
Adaptation:
- If you want to use the diagonal mirrors for AP 71/347 Imaging Star, you will need the 65 mm thread adapter supplied with the diagonal mirror. Unscrew the rotation adapter from the focuser of the apo, then you can screw the diagonal mirrors directly into the 65 mm female thread of the apo.
- With the Imaging Star Apo AP 102/520 Imaging Star and AP 130/650 Imaging Star, the diagonal mirrors are simply attached instead of the M48 camera adapter. To do this, you must remove the 65 mm threaded adapter from the diagonal mirrors. You do not need this.
- If you want to use the diagonal mirrors on the Imaging Star AP 80/352, you will also need the adaptors with item number 52337 (see under "Recommended accessories"). Here too, you will need to remove the 65 mm thread adapter.
