Imaging Star Apo refractor telescopes have been developed for dedicated astrophotographers. The objective and corrector are optimally matched for best results on the axis and in the field.
This 80 mm Imaging Star Apo offers enormous light gathering power with f/4.4. In direct comparison to an apochromat with f/6, you can achieve the same saturation with this Apo with only about half the exposure time.
The Apo offers a well-corrected and illuminated image field with a diameter of approx. 42 millimetres. Thanks to the moderate exposure times, noise can be kept to a minimum, which is particularly beneficial for owners of uncooled DSLR cameras. Of course, the Apo is also suitable for CCD cameras.
- Tilting - for even better edge stars: A tilting device at the end of the focuser allows you to achieve even better field correction. Minimal tilting, even of the camera sensor, has an effect on the image with this extreme telescope. With the three pull screws and the three pressure screws at the end of the telescope, you can achieve individual fine adjustment for truly outstanding star sharpness from one end of the sensor to the other.
- Connecting the camera to the telescope: The camera is connected via the M48x0.75 thread of the tilting mechanism or the M68 thread on the focuser. Back focus: 55 mm from the M48 connection thread including the 19 mm extension tube or 74 mm without extension. 55 mm is ideal for DSLR cameras!
- The 2.5" rack and pinion focuser: The newly designed focuser holds even heavy cameras without tilting. It has been specially designed for photographic use. Adjustment is via a rack and pinion mechanism without slipping! The knurled screw at the base locks the adjustment and guarantees that the focus position is held perfectly for hours. You can also fix the position of the extension tube using a knurled screw on the upper side.
- The focuser holds the 3-element corrector and has an M68x1 ZEISS level connection thread on the camera side. The reduction to M48 and the M48 tilt device are included – all completely screwed together, of course.
