Universal and compact Maksutov telescope with GoTo computer control
The telescopes of the MCX series are easy to transport and can be set up quickly. Thanks to the electronic control, even beginners can immediately find the interesting celestial objects.
One of the outstanding features of the MCX telescopes is the very solid fork mount made of aluminium and the universal tripod made of stainless steel. Both ensure a secure stand and the lowest possible unwanted vibrations during observation. In addition, the drives are equipped with precision ball bearings and precise steel/brass worm gears in both axes. This ensures a smooth and quiet tracking of the stars.
Other features:
- Hand control with very large illuminated display
- Sturdy stainless-steel tripod with polar wedge: azimuthal mode for visual observation and equatorial mode for celestial photography
- Can also be used as a table top unit without a tripod
Maksutov telescopes
Maksutov telescopes are very compact and therefore ideally suited for portable use or for when travelling. The enclosed optics and collimation stability with Maksutovs ensure their robustness.
Maksutov telescopes have a very long focal length despite their compact design. But the field of view is rather narrow when compared to achromatic refractor telescopes. However, this combination makes Maksutov telescopes ideal instruments for observing the Moon and planets. And when equipped with an Amici prism, they are also very well suited to nature-watching and nature photography.
