The AP 130/910 optics are a triplet lens with a 130 mm aperture and a focal length of 910 mm. They meet the criteria of a fully apochromatic lens. Even at magnifications of around 450x, the image is free of annoying colour aberrations. Even bright stars are depicted in astrophotography without any annoying blue fringing.
The central element of the lens is made of FPL55 optical glass, which is comparable to the well-known FPL53. Another special glass supports colour correction. The triplet lens with air gap is fully adjustable. Each optical glass-air surface is multi-coated. The lens is in a temperature-compensated mount.
3.7” rack and pinion focuser: The large focuser is optimised for photography and carries loads up to 8 kg - fully sufficient for heavy cameras with accessories! There are also multiple internal threads available for screw-on adaptations, in particular for the recommended flattener. The focuser also rotates by 360° in order to select the correct field of view.
The generous working distance (back focus) of 140 millimetres from the 2" barrel is suitable for almost all applications. A removable segment between the focuser and the tube can extend the distance to 240 millimetres. This allows, for example, binocular attachments to be used without additional focus adjustment.
