The AP 150/1200 optics are the largest lanthanum/FPL53 Doublet refractor. It has the same optical design as the successful Photoline 125 mm Apo. The inexpensive yet powerful optical concept makes this dream telescope affordable for amateur astronomers. Whether you are interested in solar and planetary photography and observation or astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters and galaxies, this telescope will offer you very good performance.
The Doublet objective with SD glass, one lens made of FPL53 and the other of special lanthanum glass, delivers maximum performance and colour correction previously only known from triplet objectives. Each Apo is tested on our optical bench before shipping to ensure you always have optimum performance.
Weighing only 9 kilograms, the telescope is still portable and can be carried by mounts from EQ6-R.
3.7” rack and pinion focuser: The large focuser is optimised for photography and carries loads up to 8 kg - fully sufficient for heavy cameras with accessories! There are also multiple internal threads available for screw-on adaptations, in particular for the recommended flattener. The focuser also rotates by 360° in order to select the correct field of view.
