Product description

ED optics for crisp, bright observations
Nature, birds, stars... Using these binoculars you can observe everything you want with razor-sharp clarity. A new lens with special ED glass delivers exceptionally clear images with increased contrast. Additionally, it has a vast visual field like those usually found only in expensive binoculars. Hunter 2.0 stands for professional observations at an affordable price.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Waterproof and mist-free so that you can enjoy observing on rainy and sunny days
  • ED special glass optics for fewer colour fringes and considerably greater contrast and clear views whilst observing
  • Anti-reflection coating and BAK4 prisms, for bright and crystal clear images right up until dusk
  • Extra large visual field: Survey a large area for added WOW when nature watching
  • Cool design and non-slip hold - always a suitable companion for journeys and excursions.

Impressive to the very end
Does anyone like peering through narrow ducts? That is exactly what many binoculars offer. The Hunter 2.0 is a state-of-the-art, well thought through improvement. Use it to instantly expand your horizons due to its even larger visual field than its predecessor. So you can see more nature and more of your environment.

Powerful performance day and night
A neutral, crisp and high-contrast image. The Hunter 2.0 shows your surroundings just as they are. Multi-coated lenses and high-transparency BAK4 prisms provide bright images. For you this means ideal observations in every situations.

During the day:Observe nature whilst travelling, or game and birds. Notice the smallest details and slight differences in plumage.

At dusk:Who’s creeping across the clearing? When the light gets low, these binoculars provide bright images. Crepuscular animals are no longer hidden from view.

At night:What does the sky above you look lile? What can be discovered in the Milky Way? With the Hunter 2.0 you can find out. Ideal for journeys of discovery on mild summer nights.

Clear views in humidity and wet conditions
Water has no effect on your new binoculars. Imagine you are on a hunt at dawn. Humidity is usually especially high then and dew can quickly build up in your binoculars. But this is no problem as these lenses always remain clear.

Elegant design with large focusing wheel
Hunter 2.0 binoculars were designed for you to always have a grip on things. Their rubber armour makes them fit perfectly in your hand and you can always reach the focusing wheel with your fingers. So you can quickly set the correct focus, for example if you want to see a rare bird in the bushes.

Compact:Be it an objective aperture of 42, 50 or 56mm, the binoculars are made as small as possible. The roof construction is especially space-saving.

Robust:A thick rubber armour provides a protective layer. You you can put your binoculars down amongst nature.

Precise:Instantly find the correct view and focus. Use the large aluminium focussing wheel and the dioptre wheel to easily set the correct focus. Twist-out eyecups with locking function ensure the right view.

Carry bag and carrying straps

Your binoculars are always ready and well protected against dust in their custom-made bag. The soft padded carrying straps make observing fund all day long.

Great Astronomy ED Binocular on a Budget

Review by Z. B. on 27.08.2026 20:16:22

( 4 / 5 )

I have to admit that I was a little hesitant about this binocular because it is by far the cheapest ED model in this category, and I could not find any optical tests or detailed reviews of its performance.

In use, however, it has impressed me. It is surprisingly compact and light enough to hold steadily, with either no noticeable shaking or only minimal movement. Looking through the tubes, I could not see any internal components protruding into the optical path.

I bought it primarily for astronomical observing, and for that purpose it performs excellently. Stars remain point-like even near the edge of the field of view. I did not notice any chromatic aberration during astronomical observations; the only exception was a small halo around Vega. Under a dark, moonless rural sky, M31 was extremely obvious, while M33 was an easy target.

Daytime observations are equally impressive. The image appears essentially free of spherical aberration, and the entire field of view is useful. There is only minimal distortion towards the edges. For example, when looking at a crane, its tower becomes slightly barrel-shaped right at the extreme edge of the field, but this is otherwise hardly noticeable.

The image is not completely free of chromatic aberration during daytime use. On bright, high-contrast areas, a very subtle yellow-purple CA can be seen if you actively look for it, but it is quite restrained.

Compared with my Delta Forest II 10x42 roof-prism binocular, the Omegon 10x56 ED produces a noticeably nicer image, both for astronomical and daytime observations, thanks largely to its practically distortion-free view.

The carrying case is only a moderately padded canvas pouch, but this also means that it takes up very little space. The main design drawbacks I found are that the case flap cannot be closed with the eyecups fully extended, and that the front lens sits very close to the front of the binocular, making it rather easy to accidentally touch or smudge it.

Rating: 4/5

I am taking off one star mainly because of the small amount of chromatic aberration visible during daytime use, the case flap issue, and the exposed front lens. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend the Omegon Hunter 2.0 10x56 ED to anyone looking for a relatively lightweight, good-value roof-prism ED binocular.
