Pentax Z-Series

Rough and tough with an exceptional image quality, edge-to-edge sharpness, unsurpassed brightness & clarity and a resolution that will impress – especially under twilight conditions. What more could you ask for? We built this serie to weather all weather! The strong body is protected with a solid, rubber armouring – the binocular can easily be handled when wearing gloves. To assure all-time functionality we have added a hydrophobic coating on all to-air exposed lenses – rain, fog, snow or even your own breath will no longer trouble your viewing.
- ED lenses for natural colour reproduction
Top-quality lenses must be free of annoying colour errors (chromatic aberration). The lenses in the Z-Serie use special ED front lenses with low dispersion. These special lenses enable a lighter and more compact design than apochromatic lens systems.
Aspherical Lens Elements These specially manufactured lenses reduce aberrations to a minimum and are responsible for sharp and brilliant image reproduction right to the edges. The aspherical hybrid lenses of the Z series not only enable outstanding imaging performance, they also allow for a compact and lightweight design.
- New Enhanced Light Transmission Coatings
PENTAX binoculars take quality optics to the next level by applying a new, optimized film-deposition technology on lens and prism surfaces resulting in increased light transmission which creates bright images with accurate color rendition
- Protective Lens Coating
All optical surfaces are delicate and must be handled with care to prevent scratching. To add to the durability of the Z- and S-series Water Proof binoculars*, PENTAX has added a protective, nano technology coating that helps deflect water, oil, dust and dirt. This allows PENTAX binoculars to withstand the harshest viewing conditions.
- Phase correction
The design of roof prisms poses a particular challenge. Here, the light rays are reflected several times, causing a shift in the light waves. An additional phase correction coating on all PENTAX roof prisms corrects the frequency of the light rays back to their natural value.
dielectric coating A dielectric coating on the prisms maximises colour fidelity. Up to 70 layers of colour correction coating are vapour-deposited onto the prisms.
- Internal focusing
Internal focusing protects the binoculars from dust, foreign objects and moisture. This ensures functionality over a long period of use.
- Nitrogen filling
Almost all Pentax roof prism binoculars are filled with nitrogen, which prevents condensation inside the binoculars and also prevents dust and tiny particles from entering.
- Lightweight magnesium alloy body
The magnesium alloy construction makes the binoculars not only particularly stable but also very light. The rubber armouring provides additional protection against pressure and impact.
