Product description

The LS40THa is a complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha, with 40mm aperture (no central obstruction) and 400mm focal length.

The H-alpha wavelength is the most impressive way to observe the sun, showing protuberances at the sun's edge, filaments and flares on the surface, and much more. An Etalon with mechanical tilt-tuning provides <0.7 Angstrom bandwidth.

The connection between eyepiece and camera: The block filter is built into the deflection optics which is compulsory for solar observation! This filter takes eyepieces or cameras with 1.25” sockets, but also has a T2 thread. The blocking filter is not required for nocturnal observation. The focuser can hold the zenith mirror or other accessories with 2” sockets.

The B500 Blocking Filter is well suited for visual observation of the sun. However, a larger filter should be selected for photography.

It not only matters which telescope you buy but also where you buy it. Our additional services:

  • We provide a copy of the 80-page Telescope ABC beginners handbook with every telescope.
